Management Team

Dr. Rajeev Soni, President & COO
Dr. Rajeev Soni has over 15 years of varied and in-depth experience in the field of biotechnology with significant exposure in recombinant protein expression in bacteria, yeast and mammalian cells, drug discovery research pertaining to cancer, infectious diseases, respiratory and inflammatory disorders. He completed his Master’s degree from JNU, New Delhi and his PhD from the University of Cambridge, UK and possesses both academic and pharmaceutical industry experience in drug discovery and development. He has carried out research work in cancer drug discovery, drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics, hematopoeitic stem cells in globally recognized institutions like Novartis, Switzerland, Lidak Pharmaceuticals & The Scripps Research Institute, USA. He has been instrumental in setting up the molecular biology facility at Naval Research Lab in Washington D.C as well as various laboratories in U.S.A., U.K. and India. Prior to joining PREMAS Biotech, he served as Associate Director, Biotechnology, Ranbaxy Research Laboratories, India.

Dr. Prabuddha K Kundu, Head-Manufacturing
Dr. Prabuddha K Kundu has over 8 years experience in the field of scale up, production and protein purification. He completed his M.Tech and PhD in Biomedical Engineering from IIT-Bombay. His expertise includes pre-project feasibility, technology due-diligence of bio-manufacturing facilities, scale up studies, downstream processing and project management of bacterial, yeast and mammalian cell culture systems. He has been associated with scaling up pilot projects in bio-manufacturing in India and South-East Asia. Apart from his process engineering skills, he has in depth knowledge of fluorescence based technology studies and has played a major role in establishing national imaging facilities that included multi-photon microscopy and FCS imaging. Prior to joining PREMAS Biotech, he managed production, marketing and research in internationally reputed companies such as Bio-Rad Laboratories & Ranbaxy Research Laboratories, India.

Mr. Praveen Gupta, Head-Business Development
Mr. Praveen Gupta has over 14 years of marketing experience in life science and molecular diagnostic arena handling solutions for cell biology, proteomics, high-throughput screening and genomics. Praveen completed his Master’s degree in Genetics from Pune University and earned his management degree from XLRI, Jamshedpur. He has played major roles in defining marketing strategy, new product planning and development of nascent markets. Praveen had served in various capacities at Bio-Rad Laboratories, Life Technologies, Ranbaxy Laboratories and Dr Reddy’s Laboratories. Prior to joining PREMAS Biotech, he was heading the Sales Operations (South East Asia) where he led the marketing, sales and management of brands like Genomic Solutions, DAKO and Abbott Molecular Diagnostics.

Mr. Narahari Kousik, Vice-President, Finance & HR
Mr. Narahari Kousik has over 20 years of rich and varied experience in start up as well as mature environments. N Kousik is a Chartered Accountant and holds a bachelor degree in Commerce. He has held leadership positions in Xerox (India) as a General Manager Accounts, in United Riceland as Chief Financial Officer and in Duracell as Financial Controller. He was instrumental in ensuring financial project success in Green field projects such as Duracell. He has expertise in supporting and facilitating business processes and has driven organisational new initiatives and programs on productivity. He brings key skills in competitive strategy, cross disciplinary approach, problem resolution mindset and team building abilities to the business. In addition he has played successful role in defining and implementing key financial processes and controls across the organisation.
